You can still cancel
The law gives 14 days to cancel a distance purchase, with no reason needed (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 1).
We don’t name the last day. Don’t wait: tell the seller in writing.

You can still cancel — under the seller’s terms
The law gives 14 days, but a seller may give more (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 4). If their terms really give days, the period is still running.

We can’t check your period
The 14 legal days have passed. A seller may give more (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 4). Find the return period in the terms of sale and answer again.

Your period is on the edge
You are close to the end of the period. The exact last day depends on counting rules we do not decide here. If you want to cancel, tell the seller in writing today.
The app does not take these cases yet.
Period over

The 14 days to cancel have passed
From your answers the seller gives no longer period, and the law gives 14 days (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 1).

The seller’s period has passed too
The seller’s terms give days, and they have passed (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 4).
You can withdraw

You can withdraw now
You don’t have to wait for delivery: you can withdraw from a distance purchase before the item is in your hands (Directive 2011/83/EU, recital 40). The 14 days have not started yet — they run from the day the item is in your hands (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 10.º, n.º 1, alínea b)). The same exceptions apply (art. 17.º, n.º 1). If the item does not arrive, that is a different problem: unless you agreed otherwise, the seller must fulfil the order within 30 days from the day after the contract was made (art. 19.º, n.º 1).

This right does not apply to shop purchases
The law gives a no-reason right to cancel for distance and off-premises purchases (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 2.º, n.º 1). A shop purchase can be returned only if the shop itself promises it — check its terms.

We don’t handle this case yet
Off-premises purchases are protected too (DL n.º 24/2014, art. 2.º, n.º 1), but their period rules differ. RightNOW currently handles distance purchases only.
Important: if the seller did not tell you about your right to cancel, the period may be longer (art. 10.º, n.º 2). RightNOW does not handle that case yet.
This holds if
- you bought for yourself, not for your business, from a company, not a private person;
- the item is not an exception: made to order, perishable, opened hygiene goods, opened discs or software (art. 17.º, n.º 1);
- you have not already told the seller you are cancelling.
